Yvan Genest explores an artistic process where he mixes figurative elements and color combinations in a spontaneous way. He works mainly on portraits, giving free rein to his characters without having planned in advance the final result of his works. His artistic approach is comparable to that of a theater costume designer: he accompanies the ideas that emerge from his striking and luminous paintings, while maintaining the mystery around the subject of his paintings.
