Cynthia Coulombe Bégin

Artist of dual North American nationality born in Miami, CCB grew up in Quebec where she obtained a bachelor's degree in plastic arts in 2006 at Laval University. The artist uses his different artistic training taught by his parents from a young age, in order to develop his own language.

More specifically, dance and martial arts help her to develop her personality and aesthetics linked to the body, which she exploits in her pictorial practice. She has accumulated her experience with exhibitions in various galleries and private companies, prizes and collective events in Quebec and internationally such as New York, Miami, Las Vegas, Toronto, Palm Springs, San Francisco, Hong Kong. The year 2019 will be marked by its major participation in the visual of the Quebec version of the famous show La Voix 7 (The Voice) broadcast on TVA.

Inspired by the body and the experience of humanity, the creative approach of CCB consists in the reconstitution of the organism by fragment with a great sensitivity which proposes a reflection on our identity and our existence. Referring to the body and its evolution, she develops her pictorial research marked by her interests for the portrait in which the eyes and the mouth predominate. Through his works, the artist presents his thoughts on soul and matter, consciousness and the universe.

A variation of techniques evolves and changes over time. Realistic renderings with a brush, abstractions with a spatula and spray paint form a happy blend of contemporary art inspired by street art. Cynthia Coulombe Bégin's images are imbued with symbolism and eroticism.
